After the commencement of the era of globalization, practicing law and management has ceased to be a matter of expertise to the knowledge of the fields in one’s own country. In this global village, nations are becoming interdependent and interconnected. The interactions between the peoples of various countries are at unprecedented rates. Industrial and commercial activities are expanding among nations, and the boundaries between nations are becoming increasingly blurred. In future, regardless of the nationality of a lawyer or manager, and the area he chooses to study, he will have to practice law or management in the wider and more diverse global village. Even after the best efforts made by Government and non-government organizations, the void of an institution of excellence of the required grandeur still exists in the fields. This aspect prompts us to establish an institution of international stature for advanced studies and research in law and management. We feel it a national necessity needed by time.

The proposed Academy named after the memory of N.A.Palkhivala will be a Global Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in various fields of human knowledge and the first School opening up will be of law and the second school for management studies. The Institutes for Legal and Management Studies will be started in two phases affiliating with University of Calicut. It will be developed in to de-novo institutes of excellence eligible to be declared as a Deemed University in due course.

The establishment of the proposed institution is to become a landmark in the history of the legal and management education in India. In order to materialize this vision, Bhavan expects the whole hearted support and assistance from all – especially from the well-wishers of Bhavan, friends and admirers who seek an ideal monument for the revered memory of late Palkhivala, and all who dream to see such a world-class institution established in India.
