Blood Donation Camp Successfully Conducted at Bhavan’s PALSAR Reported on: 22/07/2026 Bhavan’s N.A. Palkhivala Academy for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (Bhavan’s PALSAR), Kozhikode, successfully conducted a Blood Donation Camp on 22 July 2026 at the college auditorium in collaboration with the Government Women and Children Hospital, Kozhikode. The camp commenced with the arrival of the Principal, Prof. R.K. Biju, who visited the venue, interacted with the organisers and the hospital’s medical team, and reviewed the arrangements. Students, faculty members, and staff actively participated in the initiative, reflecting the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian service. The camp was held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. under the supervision of the hospital’s medical team. Donors completed the registration process, followed by counselling and a medical examination, including body weight, pulse rate, blood pressure, medical history, current medications, and haemoglobin (Hb) testing to determine eligibility. A total of 32 donors, predominantly female students, successfully donated blood. Several students were found ineligible to donate due to low haemoglobin levels. However, the screening process created awareness among the participants about their health status and encouraged them to take appropriate corrective measures. The collected blood units were securely recorded through the Blood Bank Traceability System, ensuring proper documentation and complete traceability. Following the donation, every donor received a refreshment packet and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their selfless contribution. At the conclusion of the camp, the Kerala State AIDS Control Society / Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Bhavan’s PALSAR in recognition of successfully organising a voluntary blood donation camp with the support of the blood centre. The certificate acknowledged the contribution of the institution towards promoting voluntary blood donation and humanitarian service. The camp concluded successfully, reinforcing awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraging the college community to continue supporting life-saving initiatives.
